Updated: Sep 26, 2023

Are you an estate planning attorney looking to better serve your clients and set yourself apart from others in the industry? Then you won’t want to miss out on the second episode of March to a Million, a podcast hosted by well-respected estate planning attorney and Certified Financial Planner, Greg DuPont. In this episode, Greg shares more about himself and his plans to make a positive impact on the world. From his personal stories to his motivation for starting the March to a Million movement, this episode is filled with valuable insights and recommendations.

Here’s a quick recap (paraphrased) on what we talked about in episode 2 – Get to Know Your Host: Greg DuPont.

How do you recharge and rewind?

Greg: I struggle to detach from my work due to the immense energy it provides me. But, I try to follow Dan Sullivan’s model of free days and focus days. Apart from work, I try to relax at night with my wife Julia, a martini, and occasionally my daughter Sophie, when she visits us.

What would you do with your time if you had all the money in the world and didn’t have to work?

Greg: I would likely still be doing much of the same. I would definitely continue my March to a Million and similar endeavors. Constant And Never Ending Improvement is one of my mottos and I wouldn’t stop doing that even if I had all the time and money in the world.

What inspired you to take on this March to a Million?

Greg: I started my March to a Million because I saw a problem that wasn’t improving – the financial industrial complex being that problem. It places the burden of financial planning on the consumer and overloads them with information to the point of paralysis. I’ve seen too many well-meaning folks make improper decisions due to improper guidance. It’s my mission, purpose even, to preach the message of informed decision-making. I want to help people navigate the complex world of finance.

Any general advice or recommendations to family, friends and clients?

Greg: Something I recommend to everyone is to embrace change. As Steve Jobs once said, “think different”. There are extraordinary changes on the horizon that we need to adapt to. We can’t rely on outdated paradigms if we want to succeed in 2023 and beyond. I encourage everyone to be open to new ideas and embrace change in your personal and professional lives.

Any recommended readings? What are some of your favorite books?

  • 10x is Easier than 2x by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy

  • Who Not How by Dan Sullivan

  • Principles of Dealing with a Changing World Order by Ray Dalio

  • Life Force by Peter Diamandis and Tony Robbins

What is something most people don’t know about you?

Greg: I was a chronic underachiever in high school and college. Bs and Cs. I understood big picture items and could explain them well but couldn’t pay attention to the minute details.

What is your definition of success?

Greg: This is actually a fairly easy question for me. It’s my March to a Million. If I positively impact the lives of a million people by the time I turn 65, I’ll be happy.

What is a daily mantra that keeps you focused?

Embrace the Discomfort to Grow.
